About Jackie

Design Process

I am an artist and crafter who truly believes in healing the mind and heart through creativity. I love to express myself through different mediums. I have taken many art workshops and courses and continue to do so, always looking for new inspiration. While glass fusing is my main focus, I also enjoy mixed media, abstract art, combining different elements, and breathing new life into old things.

Background

Born near Pittsburgh, PA, I have called Ohio my home since I transferred to Kent State University in 1998 where I obtained my degree in Communication Studies in 2000. My husband and I married in 2002 and moved to Hudson, OH where we currently reside. Since the birth of our first son, I have been a stay-at-home mom who co-founded the local chapter of the MOMS Club and was an active volunteer in the kids’ schools. Now our two boys are active teenagers, keeping us busy with martial arts, scouts, basketball, and school. We also have a crazy, loving German Shorthaired Pointer named Marvel.

Volunteer Work

I also spend time giving back to those who protect our country and make the world a better place. As a Northeast Ohio Foundation for Patriotism (NEOPAT) volunteer, I help organize their annual toy drive and the auction at their annual gala, among other fundraisers and events.  For the holidays, I create Christmas cards for many local VA hospitals, NEOPAT, and other groups.  Throughout the year, I make greeting cards for Operation Gratitude.
